Hi,

I have returned to assessing after 7 years away...Wow massive changes

On top of all these changers I have to get my head round, I have been talked into taking some L5 learners. Only experience I have is from completing my own and I happily admit I had a lot of input from my assess at the time!

I and the learners are seriously struggling with unit 453

I have started by getting them to focus on Learning outcome 2

Does anyone have any hints/tips
Useful websites
Anything that will expand my understanding and enable me to provide support & guidance to these learners.

Any suggesting's greatly received

Hi

Just seen your question.

So for LO 1 1.1 I would ask them to think about a research project that relates to their own workplace. This could be about legislation, supporting people with Dementia, End of Life care, Diabetes, Mental Health etc…by guiding the candidates to do this it can cross reference into quite a lot of other Units e.g. 2 and 3.

1.2 Ask them to write a plan for the project e.g. how is the research going to be presented.

1.3 Ethical considerations may arise from the research they do for the project also this could include, confidentiality, other legislation etc

1.4 I take this to mean a report.

I hope this is helpful.

Keep in touch!
Kind regards

Suzi

a great idea here on choosing a topic that fits your optional choice killing several birds with one stone, so to say.
don't think big, narrow it down.
for example dementia and diet, the argument for the research could be Does diet help with dementia traits, concentrate on one area, short term memory loss, exercise ext
its really very exciting when you start, don't write anything until you have read on the subject and discover what was not said, that is you research.

I am doing my level 5 research and feels a bit helpless. I am quite confident to complete the work, but i don't know a correct structure or a model that needs to be followed through with an assessment. Sadly the assessor hasn't been much of a delight, additionally a format of questionnaire... is there anyone who could share some support?
