What were the 2 examples given?
Possible risks when assisting residents' with personal care include manual handling (transfers, hoists, communication etc) clinical hygiene, cross contamination, challenging behaviour.
Sources of assistance can be other members of staff, manual handling equipment, recorded patient information (ability to transfer, comfortable with male members of staff etc) external bodies (Occupation therapists, continence nurses etc)
Involving the patient so they understand at all time what is required of them to reduce risk in areas such as manual handling, challenging behaviour and the amount of time the operation takes .
Hope this helps |
