Hello,
Not really sure what you mean but at a guess it would mean putting your training into practice, i.e. keeping clients safe, using correct procedures when moving someone, following Risk Assessments, observing, reporting and recording.

I meant that some of the sections on the safeguarding have to be observed and wondered how you did this. Could it mean asking questions when doing observation.

hi when your assessor observes you for this unit she/he will watch you while you interact and work with your clients on a normal shift. she will watch where you put the residents, how you move them about, how you life them how you talk to them etc. all these ways will show her how you are putting into practice the training you are learning. such as, using a hoist when lifting a resident. She would watch how you interact with the resident and other staff, are you explaining to them what is happening, are you fixing them into the slings safely, is the person comfortable, are you telling them what is happening at each stage and checking they are ok all the time. Did you agree with your partner when you were going to start the lifting. Are you wearing the correct clothing and PPE. all these things are associated with safeguarding. Providing you are doing all these things that are required, such as good communication and explanations of whats happening you are safeguarding the client, yourself and partner and your assessor will be able to note down all these different ways you are doing it.

Hope this makes sense to you. if not you can email me and i will try to be more explicit for you. bevormerod@yahoo.co.uk.
