how to provide active support and promote the indiviiduals right, choices and well being whilst ensuring healthy and safe working practices and dealing with emergencies???????? x

Hi Naomi,

There are two parts to this question. One is your role in keeping individuals safe and healthy and the second is the individual's rights to make choices.

If an individual wants to do something that you think is not safe or good for them what do you do?

A working practice example might be when an individual says that they don't want you to use the hoist as they think they can manage without.

An emergency might be when an individual wants to collect his/her belongings in the event of a fire.

Think about care plans and policies and procedures plus you own interpersonal skills (ways of dealing with people).
