Hi everyone

just need some advice. i have to do a reflective account on this unit. i was looking to focus on one individual, explaining how i built up a relationship with them and suported them to express their needs ie was going to start by talking about meeting them at initial assessment, interacting with them on a daily basis and then go on to write about meeting with them to discuss and write support plans. i was wondering whether this was okay. also i was going to focus on a particular need they wished to be supported around and how i ensured this was met and used other support to meet it.
does this make sense? i would be grateful for any replies

Hi elgin,

That sounds OK but reflective accounts should be about specific incidents. You could write a series of accounts e.g the initial assessment, how you interacted with them in one specific incident and the meeting to discuss and write support plans. The focus on one particular need could be included in all of the accounts.

Hope that helps

thanks Aunty Sue

i have decided to focus on the support plan session with a new service user and to answer the rest of the pc through other methods questioning etc. one thing though should i include in my reflective account a brief background of client and my service?

thanks in advance
