hello all, I am new to this forum and have recently decided for a career change in care. I really want to do this as this is a big career change for me. I have a mandatory 3 day training I have to attend which will entail me sitting a short test of a series of questions. Has anyone had a mandatory training before?? If so what do they teach u in these 3 days, I want to be a bit prepared. Any help will be appreciated!!
Thanks ever so much

dont worry, it should be the following, but different companies want different training

SOVA, safeguarding adults
Ist Aid
Moving and Handling
Food Hygiene
Infection control
Care Values
Health and Safety
Recording and Reporting
Medication awareness

There will be others in the same position as you

Hey, well done you for making a change firstly!

Don't worry about the training at all, it is all user friendly and easy to follow, there will be plenty of people in your situation and it will be a good chance to meet new people, so be positive.

The training will likely be as said above the mandatory training you will need to start working with vulnerable people, if you don't want to go into the training completely blind, search online the different areas, i.e food hygiene and do a bit of reading. I have a general workbook that covers basics of fire safety, food hygiene, health and safety etc ive used in the past as a guide for trainees to go away with after the training and use as a reference point, if you would like this, id happily email it to you. Just pm me

Good luck!
