Hello, Bit of a hot potato one this! I am an assessor and it is more than frustrating if manager refuses to co operate. I have to ask why boss wants to stop meeting during working hours? How are you going to meet the performance requirements of the award, you HAVE to be assessed whilst carrying out your normal tasks, you are doing a vocational qualification. I can understand if you are busy or short staffed (where isn't) but can see no good reason why your assessor cannot observe you at these times. Plus, your employer is doubtless accessing government funding, your NVQ is costing them nothing and at the start of your award it is likely that your employer will have signed an agreement to support you and allow time for you to complete your award. I feel really sorry for you and your assessor, it can be difficult to achieve award within time frame without employer adding more obstacles. I have encountered, and still do, really supportive employers and others who are just the pits. One even docked wages of one carer who spent time with me other than for observations. Hope you fare better. Steadysue |
