hi everyone,
could you please tell me if i would be allowed to register as a manager of a care home that i am looking at purchasing? i am currently a project engineer and have been few a considerable time, therefore i have a vast amount of managerial experience. i have read a few articles and from what i understand i will need to register to start a NVQ level 4 in Care and management and possible a NVQ 4 in care. Would i still be allowed to register even if i employ a full time care manager?

Thank you for all your feedback.

You will need to register as the provider and have an interview with CQC you dont need to have NVQ in care but if you are going to manage the home as the manager then you will need to undetake Level 4 in leadership and management, if you employ a manager so long as they have RMA or level 4 leadership and mangement that is all they need to be the registered manager.
there is alot to running a home, and you have to jump through lots of hoops to satisfy CQC...it can take anything up to 6mths to get registered.
Have a look at

this section is for new providers
