We have just got the new standards for the diploma, and are having difficulty understanding how we will evidence the units, will it be the same as the NVQ's now, they look more classroom based, if anyone has anymore information I would be grateful,.

Hi cazzy,
Where did you get the new standards from. Are they being issued to training providers now? Have only seen draft units so far.

We had an EV visit yesterday who said the final versions should be released within the next seven days. She is also going to give us a training session in October as the new diploma does not start untill January.

We still don't know much about the new diploma, as the new units know have pc's and knowledge, will we evidence these the same as before.

Hi cazzy,

You can see 4 of the new units here as they are shared with the Children and Young People's Workforce Social Care route which is already under way. See SHC31, SHC 32, SHC33 and SHC34:

http://www.ocr.org.uk/qualifications/type/qcf/hsc/cypw_l3_dip/documents/index.html

There are no PCs and knowledge just competence based and knowledge based units.

Evidence methods are very similar to NVQ methods with Direct Observation, Reflective Account etc.

I must say that so far I quite approve of them!

Hope that helps

Hi cazzy,

At the end of each unit.

For full guidance on the award see the Centre handbook.

Hope that helps

How many times will we need to evidence the learning outcomes. Maybe I am just used to seeing pc's, scope and knowledge.

Also what qualification do you need to assess the new diploma. Is it the A1 and petals. I have both.

Hi cazzy,

Evidence requirements will need to be standardised by your own training organisation and agreed by your EV as with NVQ.

There are new assessor and IV qualifications for QCF but your current qualifications are still recognised so you don't need to update them.

Hope that helps
