Supervision
As part of your Personal Development Supervision is important beecause it gives you opportunity to talk about and understand your role at work. it should be done in a one-to-one setting with your supervisor and allows you to reflect on your performance over the last month to six's weekk's. it gives you the chance to discuss potential problems at work or at home and gives your suppervisor the chance to offer feedback on your performance and where you may need to improve at an earlier stage. You can discuss training and devlopment needs. if your supervision go's well you can leave felling valued and motivated. it can improve communication between you and your supervisor and it helps to build a better working relationship.

Appraisal
Appraisal are carried out once a year and allows you and your manager to review and reflect your perfofmance over the past year. It focuses on your Personal Development Plan and on whether you have or have not reached the target set the year before. it gives your manager the chance to offer feedback on your work performance or guidance on improving it. at the end of your appraisal you are able to set ojectives and Personal Development Plan for the comming year.
