This can be hard unless you are an inhouse trainer and work with learners in the work place. When working with learners in a classroom setting where the employers are releasing the learners to attend then GLH can be difficult to maintain as GLH are when they are undertaking learning in the workplace. Hard.

We are finding the same problem, althrough we are where possible using the hours they have spent doing training, and induction training towards these, I think in the mandatory units along there are 192 hours!

We are also going along the lines that anything the learners do in the workplace can count e.g. If the learner acesses the care settings policies and procedures and spend an hour doing this then they can record this on their diary sheet form that they spent an hour doing this. If the learner does any training like a health and safety course at work and it takes half a day (4 hrs) again they are to record this on their diary sheet.
When the learner does this the employer/mentor signs the bottom of the diary sheet.
All these hours will add up over the course of their qualification.
