Hello,
Maybe a client would like to access a building, a club, etc, but there is no disabled access and he/she is in a wheelchair. How would you support him/her to get information/help from to addresss this

Hi MILOZIM,

A colleague tells you that she doesn't like working with an individual who is fat because she disgusts her. Where would you go for advice? Policies and procedures? Your line manager?

A new service user is Jewish and you are not sure about the religion and its practices. Where would you go for information? Her Care plan? Family/carers? Research eg on the internet, books? Local Jewish community group?

Hope that helps

Aunty Sue

Thanks, do you sort have to give background, also could you use this for discrimination, a person has just moved into a neighbourhood, and is subjected to abuse / racism ? or is that more abuse as aposed to discrimination? Thanks really finding this useful.

wont matter really, its still discrimination, its an invasion of their human rights....can you give any more details on the abuse?
as an example.....a young man was subjected to abuse and racism due to his culture, this was an invasion of his basic human rights and in order to support him i found out about what support network he was entitled too, (if he belongs to a housing association i would enquire there what they did to support those in difficulties). because the young man was feeling low/depressed, i researched on outsidie activities that might interest him (this is promoting choice etc)
something like that!
