Any task within the health care setting carries health and safety risks. Ensuring you wash your hands before and after each task, disposal of PPE and bodily fluids, the use of hazardous substances when cleaning. With moving and handling you should ensure the environment is clear of hazards, the equipment is clean and working correctly, the equipment is used in accordance with the manufacturers instructions and the individual's moving and handling care plan (i.e. 2 x carers for hoisting).
Look at these for manual handling -
Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992.
The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
The Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995.
Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998
And these for medication -
The Medicines Act 1968
The Misuse of Drugs Act 1971
The Data Protection Act 1998
The Care Standards Act 2000
The Health and Social Care Act 2001
Hope this helps
