Hi michelle14,
1 Policies and procedures, legislation (Direct Gov), training, management, trained colleagues, your Local Authority, care plans etc.
2 If a complaints procedure is clear and easily accessible abusers would be more likely to be challenged on their behaviour. Knowing this would make them less likely to abuse. It also helps vulnerable individuals to feel more protected and more empowered and therefore less likely to accept abuse.
3 Involving them in planning, monitoring and reviewing their own care needs and provision. Speaking to them, telling them what you need to do, asking if its ok etc when you are working with them. Encouraging independence skills etc.
Hope that helps
