Check out your Induction training and any safeguarding training you have had for first part.
You will need to investigate your own workplace policy and procedure file forsecond part, each workplace is different
Where do you get training, support and advice, do you use any internet sites, any magazines or articles.

i dont really understand this as ive always only known safeguarding to be where you goto report abouse about a service user.

Local systems for safeguarding are things like the ISA - Independant safeguarding authorities. CRB - Criminal Record Bureau that sort of thing.

ISA - Safeguard children and vulnerable adults by stoppin unsuitable people working with them
CRB - Allow checks to be done on possible employees to make sure they are suitabe for example if it is an employee to work with the elderly that they do not have any convictions for theft, assault etc; Organisations and certain people can have a CRB done.
