If anyone is looking for help with their NVQ 3 this book is really good.

It will also help those doing the L3 Diploma.

Hi there,

A risk assessment is usually done on paper but can be done "on the spot" in your head.

You are usually assessing the risk of an activity or event.

I.E Aclient is going on home leave

what are the risks? abuse or absconding maybe?

how can you reduce the risks? 1-1 support maybe?

The purpose is to identify potential risks and so prevent abuse or harm to the client or others.

Hope this helps.

Hi, this relates to duty of care,

http://www.cis-assessment.co.uk/docs/pdf/wb/St5_wkb.pdf

section 2.1 deals with dilemmas.
Other examples which may cause conflicts to arise could be any area of everyday life: such as an individual choosing to wear clothes which may be considered by others to be unsuitable/inappropriate, refusing to take medication, lifestyle choices (diet & exercise, smoking, drinking, substance mis-use) who to be friends with (are they being taken advantage of/being abused?)
