Hi,
DEM 301
Outcome 3.2
Here are a range of techniques and activities that may be beneficial
Improvements and repairs - rewiring, widening doors, specially designed shower facilities
Sources of financial and legal advice
Memory aids – easy to see clocks, calendars, newspapers, notice boards and telephone reminders
Equipment and adoptions – raised toilet seats, specialist cutlery, grab rails, medic alert bracelets
Activity and relaxation techniques including music, tai chi and reminiscence activities
Validation of a meaningful occupation – if the person is actively replicating an activity from their past life this should not be discouraged- it may be meaningless to you, but in the context of their memory it is important to them. This could be anything from polishing a spoon to tidying paperwork.
