hi can anyone help me with these please,

Explain how to ensure that everyone involved in an activity or event such as a review understands how to apply the principles of active participation.

Give two ways that a risk assessment can support the right of an individual using the service to take risks and make choices

Explain how the responsibilities of all concerned with the care of an individual can be supported by risk assessment

I feel like im asking a lot, not sure if im just not understanding the questions. My assessor gave me some information but none of it seems to make any sense in relation to what i have to do.

Any help would be grately apprieciated thanks

Hello,
Think this is just worded badly, too many words, etc.
As with everything look for the simplest solution.
So, first part, remind everyone, make sure they know how to apply principles.
Second part, recognises that individuals have a right to take risks and identifies safest way to do this.
Third, everyone knows what is expected of them and how to minimise risk, 'covers your back'

Hi tinamiceli141,

I now have my file back. Here are my answers for the above questions.

1. Make everybody aware of the communication needs and preferences of the individual so there are no cummunication issues. Ensure people involved address the individual directly and ask them questions and give them time to respond and express their thoughts, feelings, opinions, needs wishes and preferences. If conflicts of opinion arise ensure everybody including the individual works together to find a suitable compromise everybody is happy with.

2. They identify the potential benefits and balance these agaist the potential danger or harm and identify how the danger or harm can be reduced so by doing a risk assessment you are allowing the individual to take part in what they choose but ensuring it is done in the safest way possible.
They allow a small element of risk to occur so the individual is able to feel more independent and has more control over what they do, helping to increase self esteem because they are able to take risks as everybody does in everyday life.

3. Risk assessment ensure that the risks have been identified and actions put in place to reduce them so everybody knows what they need to do. They identify who is responsible for the actions e.g the individual is responsible if they choose to self medicate. Risk assessments encourage individuals to make choices and take some control because they have been informed of the risks. Risk assessments identify where support is needed so everybody involved knows how to support the individual.

My answers have been marked by my assessor and the internal verifier and I got full marks for this unit so if there is anything else you need help with just ask. Hope this helps.
