hi. what is the best way of contacting the s/u's next of kin in an emergency? I suspect by phone but I would just like some conformation. I understand that face to face would be preferred but this is not always possible. any advice is appreciated.
thanks.

Depends on service user's wish as well as next kin. Some service user gives their option when mentally stable. In case of emergency, it is also important to confirm if the person intended to contact is genuine, because sometimes others may pick up the phone and may misuse the information for their selfish motive.
