Hi I wonder if anyone can help me as I am an A1 Assessor and hold a level 4 certificate in childcare. I am now working as a Care support worker and have assessed CCLD & HSC and am being paid as unqualified - I feel as I can assess HSC at L3 I should be paid as a qualified member of the team - any ideas much appreciated

Hello,
I can see why you feel you should be paid more but you have been employed as a support worker so surely are receiving the agreed pay rate for your role? I wouldn't expect to receive a higher rate for a support worker job because I am a qualified assessor, what about graduates who work in Tescos, should they be receiving a graduate's rate of pay for manning the tills, filling the shelves? Perhaps there will be a chance for promotion and will have the chance to earn the rate you think is fair for you.
Hopefully, despite your disappointment about your pay you will be happy with your job.
