Hi,
E.g. You will need to use an example from your workplace for example it may be somebody with a chest infection
You have been asked to monitor their condition by their GP or maybe a nurse
1. It may be temperature every 4 hours
2. It may be blood pressure every 4 hours
3. You may need to support the person to move regularly and to observe their pressure areas and react accordingly if signs of redness etc
4. You will need to observe any mucous being coughed up and its colour
5. Report and record the results and report significant changes immediately to prevent the condition worsening
It maybe you are looking after a person who has diabetes and you are responsible for testing their blood glucose levels.
You need to follow their diabetes plan in recording the blood glucose levels at set times. You would need the know normal levels and the individual's average levels. If the readings are much higher or lower, then you would report to the nurse or person in charge and it may be, depending on result, that they initially require a sugary drink and or a meal
The important thing is to show you understand what each type of monitoring involves and when you would do it and that you report and record immediately any change takes place.
