I have recently assessed a candidate throuth the HSClevel2. The candidate is working in domicillary care. We both found it a very positive experience.
I did however find that a lot of the knowledge evidence was not covered in her practice alone. I asked a lot of questions and we had discussions before I assessed that the knowledge evidence was covered to the required standard.
I would be interested in hearing from other assessors on this topic.

DEAR WENDY
I'M AN ASSESSOR IN CARE AND FOR THE KNOWLEDGE WE HAVE BEEN ASKED THAT THE CANDIDATE ANSWERS THE KNOWLEDGE SEPERATLEY AS QUESTIONS AND NOT TO INCLUDE THEM IN THE PERFORMANCE EVIDENCE. YOU CAN REFERENCE KNOWLEDGE TO PERFORMANCE CRITERIA BUT NOT PERFORMANCE TO KNOWLEDGE.
HOPE THIS HELPS.

i dont think i agree with you there charlie
Performance criteria does demonstrate some knowledge evidence. A piece of evidence may outline why a candidate does what they do and why. Additionally, through discussion with the candidate over the piece of evidence and why it is being submitted it will evidence pc and ke.

its not very well demonstrated within NVQ framework this apsect. Plus, I was talking to my current assessor who brought up that knowledge can also demonstrate performance also. For example, when having a professional discussion it can highlight what you know and also that you are applying it. I think that is right what I said.

i agree, i have learners who prefer to do knowledge as questions, but reading through this i can reference to performance criteria as well, did you know that you cannot get knowledge from work products or witness testomonys??
