hi im peggy

im a care worker yself and i completly support yo guys.
i told my manager in the beginning when i first started with my job that i cant do nights well he ha put me on now but it is hardr for me now because i've got my mother in law living with me who is disabilities.
she needs 24 hour care and i relaese the care of her with her husband.
I get 5.52 per hour at work and get noything back not even a weekend off if a ask for one.
so becase of my mother in law disabilities i asked if i coud be taken of nights and you know what he has done? he has given me even more nights now!!!!!!!!
Im doing my nvq2 and then i out!!!!
why shuold we carers take all this crap while they dont have to in the nhs?
Is it because we work in private carehomes or what?
i wish the goverment would do more for us in the private carehomes in stead od for the nhs!!!!!!

hi peggy, i should think it would be because your employer sees things from a business point of view. i work in a private hospital and i cant always get the time off i want when theres other things going on, such as training. but the company i work for isnt as bad as the one youre describing. sounds quite bad... have you tried whistle blowing?
