costs anywhere between a few hundred pounds upto £1450.

Shop around. Best bet is yer local county council. I just finishing my NVQ 4 in Management and have done it at a saving of anywhere between £500-£1000.

Open uni charge around nearly £1500 - wouldnt bother with them tbh esp if your not confident at doing NVQs, plus the price is very expensive.

HI,

WHERE CAN YOU GET NVQ FOR THIS AMOUNT? IN MOST OF COMPANIES I HAVE LOOKED AT THEY ARE NEARLY 1000 PDS ETC.

Hi Looby

Your local adult education centre is the place to go for good, sensibly priced NVQ's

It would be worth exploring all possibilities when it comes to funding.

If you have a level 2 in care, it is possible to do a level 3 in care with funding. I beleive train2gain offer this

Hmmmmmmmmmmm

As I understand it, for T2G funding, the second NVQ needs to be in a different field to the first. A level 3 can be taken if no level 2 has been gained if the candidate is working at level 3.

I spoke with a representative yesterday and things have/are changed/changing.

As I now understand it, if you already have an NVQ Care 2, you can get funding for an NVQ care 3 if, you do not have 5 GCSE's or similar.

A number of changes have happened / are happening with T2G at the moment.

Under Train to Gain you can get funding for a second level 2 in a different industry, you can also now get funding for a level 3 if you already hold a level 2, so long as you meet all the other funding conditions for TtG i.e over 19, lived in UK for 3 years and have no more than 4 GCSE's A-C grade or a higher qualification other than your Level 2. It is also possible to get funding for units aswell.

Hi i've been told by the nvq women that i would have to be a senior carer to do NVQ 3 i have already done NVQ 2 is this right? I've been a care assistant for less than a year. Could i get funding from somewhere else other than my employer cos he's really tight with money.
