Please help, i am having trouble cross referencing. I have a piece of evidence for example a risk assessment, my countersigner has said that this could be crossed referenced into HSC24, if i had seen this i would have done it. Can anyone point me in the right direction please.

Hi Freddy

I know bog all about HSC but I do know about assessing evidence.

The way to go about this is to take your evidence, assess it against the main unit it refers to and then work through all the other units you are doing to check if there are any PC's or knowledge the evidence covers. For instance, I assess customer service where one piece of evidence can cover all eight units.
You need to especially look at the mandatory units when doing this.
Don't worry, it's taken me five years to get to the stage of looking at a piece of evidence and rattling off which unit it covers.

It takes a bit of time but it's worth it.

Hi Freddy,
I promise it gets easier!
I guess your countersigner meant you could reference to 24c, so your work on Risk Assessment would cover protecting individual from harm and danger. And possibly 24a if there's any conflict of opinion. See, easy isn't it!?

Hi Freddy I am nearly at the end of my NVQ, I felt exaclty like you did at the begginging it was all a bot mind boggling, it gets easier as you go along. At first I found it easier to just ramble on with for intacnce a rflective account and then find what evidence it related to a sort of holistic report, but as I got more into it I am able to sit with the permance criteria and write an account to the PC , try when your writing to use key words from the PC it makes it easier for the assessors to pick up on what PC you are writing. Hope this helps.

Good luck you will get there
Audrey
