7. Conflicts can be caused by the lack of communication and understanding between care staff and the individual not being able to communicate their wishes or the staff not having the knowledge or the access to the information to resolve a situation in which case an agreement or compromise has to be that the individual would give staff time to speak to managers or other professionals to get the information to resolve the problem.
8.Individuals making comments and complaints about the level of care they are receiving will be encouraged to discuss their aspirations with the manager of the care provider so as to come to an amicable and achievable goal as to what is required and what can be provided. 35b. RESPECT THE DIVERSITY AND DIFFERENCE OF INDIVIDUALS AND KEY PEOPLE.
1.in the event an individual receives a visit from a relative a location will be found so as to respect their privacy and dignity. A quiet room that is comfortable and away from communal areas so as to prevent private conversations being over heard.
2. Supporting an individual with choices of what to wear and shower or bath leads into offering choices of breakfast cereals. Such actions by support staff will give the individual the right to express their likes and dislikes and preferences.
3. Individuals need support to exercise their rights to choose their own culture and beliefs support to access their religious buildings and to follow their values and preferences. This may involve a support worker going with the client to church .
4. choosing a support worker whose own values and beliefs are not compromised. allowing the individual to access activities to maintain their independence. Be it that the individual's own sexual deviation is not mainstream or their interests are somewhat unique.
5. If it comes to my attention that a member of staff has a problem working with a client I would take the staff member to a quiet location within the work place and discuss the issues troubling them. Discussing issues of discrimination and conflicts of interest, cultures or diversities, and try to work together to over come an issue that may lead to a disciplinary or the individual leaving which could cause problems for the establishment.
6.sometimes an assumption can cloud an individuals judgement as to an individuals demean so I will talk to the person in the wheelchair and not ask the carer the question assuming that the person in the chair cannot communicate. I treat all individuals with the utmost respect and consideration for their diversity and difference.
7.working with staff to discuss their problems with equality and diversity may become a problem that has to be and could only be referred to the manager maintaining confidentiality being in the forground of any conversations.

35c CONTIBUTE TO THE PROTECTION OF ALL INDIVIDUAL
1. It is important to minimise the risks of actual and likely danger, harm and abuse for individuals, this makes it important to report and record all events and visitors activities within the home.
2. Working practices within the home are subject to policies and procedures. In the event that an individual refuses a visit from one key person and not another must be given some concideration, the rights of the key worker to see their relative weighed up against the individuals right to be protected agaist potential harm, danger or abusive situations.I wll become necessary to inform the key person that his visits are not welcomed by the individual and for such a time it would be better if the visits stopped pending investigation.
3. Signs of abuse must be recorded and reported to the manager or senior carer. The individual stops buying his regular newspaper and toffees witout explaination but this has just started since visits from a certain member of family,I would be looking for financial abuse a young female service user who is normally very bubbly and always smiling suddenly starts to cower frequently as another individual walks passed . These events recorded on a daily basis can creat a pattern and the possible out come of physical abuse.
4.as I carry out my duties I make it known that I am always available for a chat. I talk to the clients affording them respect an encourage then to come to me with there concerns knowing that I would listen to them without ridicule, rejection or retribution.
5. In the event of an individual disclosing to me a situation of abuse I would firstly inform them that I would have to record the alligation and report it to my manager .
6. I am asked by a service user if they could have a quiet word, and they convey to me that an abusive situation is happening . I inform the individual that what they are about to tell me must be recorded and reported to my manager and as per policies and procedures as well as the law all allegations of abuse must be investigated. The individual reporting the abuse can be protected from dangers harm and further abuse, and that no other individual within the care setting has to know what has been said, under the whistle blowing policy. I listen carefully to the individual making the report being careful not to make comment or being judgemental reassuring the individual that they are doing the right thing in reporting the abuse.
7. Reporting the suspected abuse to my manager I convey my fears and aspirations and discuss my feelings and emotions about the disclosed harm or abuse, and make decisions as to weather or not I am strong enough emotionally to deal with the investigation.
8. Having had the discussion with the individual I commence recording the conversation ,stating clearly who reported the abuse, when it happened ,by who, what the abuse consisted of. Witnesses , times and dates of occurrences. As per policies and procedures telephoning or reporting to the manager.once all reports complete they are to be handed over to the Manager.
